08/11/19

Just a week more to go and Oakville’s Children’s Festival 2019 is bound to wow attendees at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC). Just like previous years, this year’s Oakville Children’s Festival will be a full day event graced by notable performers and with fun activities for kids and the kids at heart.

See Splash’N Boots at Oakville Children’s Festival 2019

No other than five-time Juno Award nominee and Treehouse TV royalty Splash’N Boots will headline next Saturday’s event. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 17, 2019, and be at the QEPCCC from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. if you want to sing along and dance to the tune of Who Put the Beat in my Shoes, Tilly the Tadpole, and Antelopes Love Cantaloupes.

More Performers, More Fun!

Splash’N Boots will not be the only performer there. Norman Foote, a Juno Award-winning singer and songwriter will also perform. Something that a lot may love as he has been entertaining crowds for about 3 decades. Hits he will perform include Always Be Yourself, Love My New Shirt, and Everybody Sings.

Popular festival performers that you can look forward to include Zoosemobile, the Ben Show with Ben Burland, stunt ventriloquist Tim Holland, the Lumberjack Show, the Twisted Ones Balloon Show, CanSpin Awards Hooper of the Year Isabella Hoops, and Junior World Champion Indigenous Hoop Dancer Ascension Harjo.

Mayor Rob Burton says that he and the Town Council are committed to making sure that residents and guests will have a great time at the 2019 Oakville Children’s Festival. He also said that they did what they can to bring the biggest names in child entertainment and invite some surprise guests for August 17.

Children’s Festival Fun Activities

As for activities, they were mostly chosen to complement the live performances. Interactive shows that have hands-on activities include art and building workshops, seedling plantings, face painting, free indoor swimming, summer camp experience, sports zone, Fire safety Zone, City Parent Scavenger Hunt, and more. Oakville Public Library will also have storytimes and the Oakville Public Library Book Sale.

Delicious Food to Enjoy

Festival attendees are encouraged to bring litterless lunch and their own reusable water bottles. Water will be provided at festival water stations and those who have no time to prepare food ahead of time may purchase from food trucks that will be at the venue for convenience.

Attend Oakville Children’s Festival 2019

If you want to attend, you are free to take the free Oakville Transit shuttle from Bronte GO Station. You may also bike to the venue as vehicle parking will not be available during that day together with parking restrictions to be enforced in the neighbourhood on festival day. Like the shuttle, festival admission is free and the event will push through come rain or shine on August 17, 2019, Saturday, at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre.
