Oakville’s Long-Running Holiday Home Tour Continues Its Tradition in 2025
The highly anticipated 2025 Oakville Holiday Home Tour organized by St. Andrews returned this year, welcoming residents into some of the town’s most thoughtfully designed homes, continuing a tradition that began in 1981. Held every two years, the tour highlights holiday decor, architectural diversity and design culture across Oakville neighbourhoods, from Central Oakville down to the historic charm of Old Oakville, Ontario.
This year eight homes throughout Central Oakville, Old Oakville, Southwest Oakville, and West Oakville offered ticket holders a rare opportunity to step inside, get inspired and celebrate the holiday season all while raising funds for local charities. The sold out event has become a meaningful community staple that brings neighbours together, celebrates custom home design and the spirit of giving back.
Among the eight participating homes was a newly built custom residence in Central Oakville, belonging to a realtor on the Goodale Miller Team. The home’s approach to holiday styling and its thoughtful craftsmanship made it a notable stop on the tour.
Design Talent Represented Across Oakville in 2025
A defining feature of this year’s tour was the range of design perspectives represented. Each of the eight homes showcased holiday styling by a different designer or firm, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the distinct design talent present throughout Oakville.

Seasonal Styling Inside: A Look at the Design Defining Luxury Homes in Oakville Ontario
Our agent partnered with Sheridan Nurseries to lead the holiday decorating. Their approach emphasized cohesion and natural materials, which aligned well with broader trends in luxury holiday styling.
The moment visitors stepped inside, they were greeted by the warmth of the entry and a beautifully styled tree topped with an oversized satin bow. This sculptural detail immediately set the tone for the home’s festive aesthetic. Dressed in neutral tones, the tree created a striking yet calm focal point that complemented the architecture rather than competing with it.
Throughout the main floor, greenery played a central role in shaping the atmosphere. Fresh garlands were placed in areas that draw attention to the home’s built-in features. One of the more memorable examples was the garland draped across the custom kitchen hood. This detail has become a defining trend in high-end holiday design. Rather than acting as an added layer of décor, the greenery reinforces key architectural lines and draws the eye to proportion, balance, and material selection. This approach is especially effective in luxury kitchens where millwork and symmetry are core design elements.
Key Holiday Design Elements Included:
- Oversized satin tree bow
This sculptural accent reflects the growing preference for simplified, form-driven holiday styling. It introduces height and texture while allowing the architecture to remain the focal point. - Garland draped across the custom kitchen hood
A leading design trend in high-end homes where décor highlights key architectural features. This detail draws attention to cabinetry, symmetry, and proportion. - Natural greenery throughout
Fresh garlands and wreaths provided continuity throughout the entryway, staircase, dining room, and great room. The greenery added structure and softness without interrupting sightlines. - Classic red and green palette
A deliberate choice that reinforces timelessness. By avoiding trend-driven holiday colours, the décor feels connected to tradition while remaining visually calm.
“Holiday décor is most effective when it highlights craftsmanship rather than competing with it.”
Architecture and Layout That Support Intentional Holiday Design
Although the décor played a central role in the tour experience, the underlying architecture provided the framework that made the styling successful. Thoughtful architecture is what allowed the seasonal styling to feel integrated rather than decorative. This home was architecturally designed by Keeren Design Inc. and built in 2023 by Butler and Lowe Inc., who also constructed another home featured on this year's tour and are highly recommended by our agent for their exceptional builds. Their work is evident in every detail, from the Southern Colonial influence to the precise Georgian symmetry that defines the façade.
Architectural Features That Define This Custom Home:
- Southern Colonial influence with balanced Georgian symmetry
- Natural white oak floors
- Ten-inch baseboards and extended millwork
- Soaring entryway ceiling with strong vertical sightlines
- Ten-foot marble kitchen island, Shaws farmhouse sink, and Perrin and Rowe fixtures
- Custom cabinetry and woodworking by Top Notch
These are the elements that support design flexibility year-round, including during the holiday season. When a home is built with this level of attention, even simple greenery can create a high-impact visual experience.
Inside the dining room, Lewis and Wood wallpaper and Visual Comfort lighting add depth and character. The great room, finished in Oxford White, provided a neutral foundation for natural greenery and seasonal accents.
Luxury living in Oakville has always been defined by more than beautiful homes. It is shaped by detail, neighbourhood character, and the traditions that bring people together. This home reflects all of these qualities and offers a glimpse into the lifestyle that makes Central Oakville such a treasured place to live.
Community Impact and Local Support
Beyond its design value, the Holiday Home Tour continues to make a tangible contribution to Oakville. The event consistently raises funds for organizations that support health care, food security, housing, and community services. This connection between home design and local giving is part of what makes the event a defining touchpoint of the holiday season.
The strong turnout in 2025, along with the range of homes and designers represented, highlighted the ongoing appetite for community engagement and elevated design education in Oakville.
